I think a good songwriter is like a fisherman.

A true songwriter captures a special moment, takes it home, filets it, adds the perfect amount of herbs and spice and compliments it with fresh greens and a nice glass of chardonnay… Then he shares it with those he holds dear.

Take this song about a tree for example. Yup, it’s about a tree but it’s special for good reason.

This morning during prayer I was thinking about how living a good, decent and healthy life does not always come naturally. It takes effort to be better, be more disciplined. There are times that we feel accomplished and confident that our lives are pleasing to God. But there are also times when we feel we have slipped or been careless, self-centred, uncaring, unloving and a let-down to ourselves and others.

Actually, the full book title is Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds, by Charles Mackay.

I found this book after reading an article in Inc. by Geoffrey James (@Sales_Source) where he lists his top 10 marketing books of all time.

I think it's important that we share our faith at least with those that are willing to listen.

Did you know, there are many places in the world that you are not allowed to share your faith?

The bible says we should share our faith.

1 Peter 3:15 ESV says:

"But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect"

That's why I'm going to include such discussions on my blog from time to time. It reflects who I am and what I stand for. It affects my decision making and how I serve others.

What about you? Do you find it difficult to talk about your faith at work? Is it something you like to try and keep private? Do you fear being ridiculed or reprimanded in today's increasingly secular society?
